Sunday Thoughts

Sunday, 5 June 2016

The only two things that are buzzing around my mind right now are a) my trip to New York and b) moving into my new flat, but my double excitement will have to be put on hold for the next 24 hours... I sit my final ever undergraduate exam tomorrow. Without a shadow of a doubt, exams have definitely been my least favourite part of my 16 years of education. Coursework is something that I tend to excel at—having the time to sit down and perfect my thoughts is such a fabulous way to grade a person's subject knowledge. Exams, on the other hand, are far too nerve-wracking. To put it simply, they are merely memory tests written ambiguously.

Hey, I don't sound bitter at all do I?? In all honesty, I am extremely grateful that I live in a country where education is easily accessible and, as much as I complain about my degree, I will genuinely miss studying philosophy. As I'm sure you can guess, my week hasn't been all that interesting. In fact, the only things marked down on my calendar are four runs and 'pay rent'. Fun fun fun! I've been trying to revise constantly for the last seven days but I hit a point mid-week where I felt completely prepared. Obviously it's great to be as prepared as possible for an exam, but there's only so much re-reading of your notes that you can do before you start to go insane. For the past few days, I've probably only done an hour of revision each day, but I still feel quite confident for tomorrow. Let's just hope there aren't any mystery questions thrown into the mix!

Well, I had better sign off and get one last afternoon of revision under my belt before tomorrow morning. Just you wait—I have a feeling that my next few weeks of Sunday Thoughts are going to be a hell of a lot more interesting! What stories do you have to tell from the last seven days? Leave me a comment letting me know!
